LET'S TRAVEL!
A popular phrase by John Donne said that no man is an island. We need one another to survive.
We have an estimated world population of 6,852,472,823 for the year 2010. Statistics show that every year, the world population grows a billion more than the year before. I'm not very good with numbers but even I know that is too much. The estimated growth this year was around 7 billion.
What's the solution?
Nowadays, people like to get away from it all. Each man is an island, and it's getting too close for comfort. Come away with me and let's go to different islands and spend time away from people. Or at least, just spend it with people who matter the most.
The BAHAMAS
This is a picture of the Bahamas as seen from outer space. Yes, it's a group of islands, specifically 29 islands, 661 cays (small sandy islands on top of coral reefs) and 2,387 islets. Located in the Caribbean, the Bahamas is famous for its sandy beaches and the perfect weather for it.
Since we're going island-hopping to be an island, we are not going to discuss places where there are a lot of people. Now, if you really want to know, the Bahamas is the third richest country in the Americas after the United States and Canada, in terms of their GDP (Gross Domestic Product) mostly from tourism. So yes, we can't really get away from people, because there's a lot of them in the Bahamas.
I hope you can find something like this when you go to the Bahamas. If I ever find a place like this, I'll never leave.
How to go to Bahamas?
First, you need a visa. You can apply for one in your country's British Embassy since the group of islands was a colony from 1647-1973. The country is now an independent state. The Bahamas is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations which recognizes Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. The Prime Minister is the head of the government and the Governor-General represents the Queen as the head of state.
After that little bit of history, and after you get a visa, you will find out that the Bahamas is a famous stopover for cruise ships. There are four major airports too, with the biggest one in the capital city, Nassau.
Governor's Harbor Airport
Aside from the natural beauty of the islands, the Bahamas is a perfect place to be alone. Well, you will meet a lot of tourists and locals for sure, but one of the main reasons why a person travels is just to get out of ordinary life. I guess seeing clear waters and sandy beaches are ordinary for some people. But, definitely, not for me.
